The Program

How do I join Highrise?

There are a couple of ways you can get involved with Highrise. You can schedule a call, through which we will learn more about you – your work, your goals and what you hope to achieve through the Highrise program. Alternatively, you can fill out an application, and we will be in touch if we think you can benefit from Highrise.

When do cohorts meet and how does it work with my schedule?

Each cohort will meet at the same time for each session, and that time will be determined according to the availability of the group. When new members join Highrise, we take their availability and tailor the meeting times to that availability.

How long are the group sessions and how often do they occur?

Group sessions will last 90 minutes each and will occur every other week for six months.

How much time should I put aside to get the most out of a program? / What is the time commitment?

To get the most out of the program, you should expect to spend a minimum of six hours per month across coaching sessions, event attendance, and the community:

  • Two (2) 90-minute cohort meetings
  • Two (2) 45-minute peer accountability groups
  • 90 minutes of personal development fieldwork
  • Optional workshops/community engagement

How often do new cohorts begin?

Cohorts begin on a rolling basis.

About Highrise

What can Highrise help me with?

Highrise will help you understand your own authentic leadership, what holds you back, and how to bring out your strengths. This, in turn, will help you improve skills such as: negotiation, team management, listening and influence, giving and receiving feedback, managing up and achieving a desired work/life balance.

What type of results can I expect?

The results you can expect depend on your circumstances, expectations, and trajectory. Folks who join Highrise tend to see increased confidence, refinement of skills such as negotiation and team management, and improvement in areas such as communication and professional relationships.

My company offers some resources regarding coaching. How is Highrise different?

Any type of coaching is beneficial, but Highrise has a direct relationship with you, not your employer. This removes the possibility of bias toward company goals on the part of your coach. Highrise only works with individuals. So if you switch jobs, or if you have a goal that is not aligned with your company, we can work with you without bias.

In addition, in our group settings, you have the benefit of working with 10 or 11 other people that are from all sorts of different companies. You can learn from and practice with folks who may not necessarily be within your company, so there is a level of vulnerability you can have with Highrise that you might not be able to have with an internal coach.

Membership

What do you get with membership?

A standard Highrise membership includes:

  • The 6-Month Highrise Leader Impact Program, which includes 12 bi-weekly group coaching sessions, peer accountability in small groups, field work and behavioral assessments and profiles
  • Access to unlimited skills development workshops, led by expert Highrise facilitators, on a wide variety of topics such as negotiation, strategic thinking, and feedback skills
  • Access to a community of peers, through Highrise’s online social platform and through community meetups and networking events

You also have the option to add features to your plan, including 1:1 sessions with your coach depending on the cadence that you and your coach agree is right for you.

Is there any type of commitment required for a Highrise membership?

We ask members to commit to the full 6-month program and attend all 12 group sessions. We also ask that if, for some reason, a member is unable to attend a group session or peer accountability session, that he or she please communicate that as soon as possible.

How does the onboarding process work?

Once we have had an initial call and you've submitted an application, we will let you know about our decision. Once you have been accepted into the program, the next step will be to meet and get a deeper sense of your experience and what you hope to get out of Highrise so we can match you with the best cohort. At that time, we will also gather logistical information such as your availability.

Coaches

Who are your coaches?

Highrise coaches are professionals with at least 20 years of operating experience and 2,000 hours of coaching experience. They are not full-time employees of Highrise; they are actually out there coaching other executives at Fortune 500 and Fortune 100 companies. Our coaches spend part of their time with Highrise because they believe in Highrise’s mission. We also make it easier for them to build relationships with their clients and focus on coaching.

How am I matched with my coach?

As you move through the Highrise application and onboarding process, we will place you with a cohort and coach that best fit your needs. Throughout our process, we will get to know a lot about you, and vice versa. We handpick our coaches for each member, and you'll always get an opportunity to meet with your coach before the cohort begins.

What if I don’t get along with my coach?

You will have the opportunity to meet with your coach before you begin the program, so you will know if it is going to be a good fit. Highrise is not a marketplace; each of our coaches is handpicked, vetted, and trained by us and brings decades of experience to the table. On the off chance something isn’t working with your coach later down the line, we will work together to find a solution.

Will my coach stay the same throughout my journey with Highrise?

Yes. At Highrise, we believe the benefits of coaching compound when you build and maintain a relationship with the same coach, so your coach will always stay the same. Whether you have an amazing opportunity that you need help with or a challenge you need a sounding board for, you will always have a coach that is steeped in your context and understands your situation to help you accelerate to a resolution.

What are your payment terms?

We ask new members to prepay once their applications have been accepted. In certain circumstances, we do offer installment options as well.

Will my company pay for Highrise?

In short, probably. Over fifty percent of the folks that use Highrise have it paid for by their employers. Some folks have a wall-to-wall stipend they are making use of, and other folks learn about Highrise, learn about the value we bring, and we supply them with information necessary to make the case to their managers and their organizations.

Other

Who are the other types of members I will be working with?

There are no rules or parameters regarding our membership. That said, Highrise members tend to be professionals who work at fast-growing technology companies and live in major cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Austin, etc. They work in a variety of roles, including but not limited to, product managers, sales people, business operations, marketing, customer success professionals, engineers, founders and hospitality professionals.

How long do people tend to use Highrise for?

Initially, members commit to a minimum of six months to complete the Highrise Leader Impact Program. However, we highly encourage, and have continued to see the value in, maintaining a membership well beyond completion of the program.

What if I don’t get along with my group?

Our coaches have extensive experience leading and facilitating cohort-based learning. In addition to meeting with your coach before your program begins, you will also have the opportunity to meet other members of our community so you can be sure Highrise will be successful for you. On the off chance something doesn't work out, we will do our best to find a solution.
